Golden silk orb-weaver

Nephila clavipes (Araneidae) is one of the species commonly referred to as the golden silk orb-weaver. This female is using a leg to pull silk from the spinneret as she rebuilds her web. The males are much smaller in size and can easily go unnoticed. La Selva Biological Station, Costa Rica
