Ant with Cordyceps

A fungus (Cordyceps) infects the ant, attacks the brain and alters the behavior of the ant so that it crawls up a plant, attaches and dies. The fungus then develops a fruiting body (the ascocarp) which can be seen growing out of several parts of the head and abdomen.
